Wellington, 8 December 2025 – Hnry has secured just over $30 million in an oversubscribed Series C raise, led by Movac’s Growth Fund investing in us for the first time. Long-time backer Icehouse Ventures has also increased its stake.
This recent round marks almost $100 million raised since 2018. Hnry co-founder and CEO James Fuller says the new investment will accelerate our international growth while strengthening services for Kiwi sole traders.
“Hnry is now in New Zealand, Australia and the UK, and in every market we’ve experienced rapid growth,” says James. “In New Zealand, we process nearly 1% of the country’s tax take, and that’s increasing every quarter. In Australia, our market share has grown sevenfold since 2020, and Hnry UK is growing six times faster than our combined Australasian market since launching earlier this year.
“Movac is well known for taking tech companies global, so having them on board at this stage is incredibly powerful,” he says.
Movac General Partner Jason Graham says the firm has followed James and Claire Fuller’s journey since Hnry began in Wellington’s Lightning Lab FinTech Accelerator.
“We invest in high-performing New Zealand and Australian technology companies with proven international markets and scalable business models. Hnry has all of that. We’re excited to support their rapid expansion in Australia and the UK, especially with the UK’s shift to digital taxation presenting a major opportunity to scale,” he says.

Hnry moved into its new Wellington headquarters 12 months ago. Across the three markets, we now employ more than 150 people, with the majority based in the capital. James says our New Zealand roots remain central to how the business grows offshore.
“420,000 Kiwis are sole traders, and more than 0.5% of NZ’s annual GDP now comes through Hnry. What we’re building in Aotearoa forms the blueprint for how we enter and expand in new markets.”

James says the Series C funding will support a wave of new innovation and product development across all markets.
