Now that public voting for this year’s Hnry Awards has closed, we wanted to take some time to recognise the amazing entries that make up our Top 10.
Out of the hundreds of submissions, we think the Top 10 really reflects the incredible talent and creative spark that so many Kiwi freelancers possess. And at Hnry, we think that creativity is something worth celebrating.
Across the board, we saw an impressive mix of visual art, video, music, and written entries – even some submissions that were so unique they didn’t fit into categories. One entrant submitted a leather jacket, while another designed a chatbot to help you choose your freelance hustle. There were parody videos, videos made up of Snapchat clips, poems, haikus, and short stories. Some entries made the judges laugh, some entries moved them and resonated with their own experiences as freelancers – some entries even made the judges a little uncomfortable. But overall, they were truly blown away by the sheer range and diversity of submissions.
So to everyone who entered the 2020 Hnry Awards: all of us here at Hnry want to congratulate you on your skills, voice, craftsmanship, passion, and experience.
